Where the Pacific Ocean meets the shoreline of Southwestern United States, there lies the state of California. Sunny. Warm. Glitzy and glamorous. A location where one finds people and places as varied as all the colors and hues of a rainbow.
It is a home to nearly 40 million people. And a temporary home for many more who pass on through and pause to take in the beauty of it all. Throughout ages it has inspired dreams and hopes, but also tested them in more dire ways than one can imagine.
For eight days we were statistical numbers among the millions of people that make their way to California each year, simply glad to set their feet on those well-traveled grounds. Open for California experiences.
We marveled at the imagination of the human mind. Of the sparks of inspirations that led the artists to envision what now stands as a visible testimony of their creativity. The architecture. Those imposing sky-scrapers. Bold shopping centers and restaurants. Complex communities.
And we enjoyed observing the many hand-prints of the enormous entertainment industry. The infamous Hollywood sign. The stars. The hand-prints and signatures of actresses and actors. The Hollywood Boulevard. The Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Our trip took us through the many surrounding cities of LA, including Santa Monica, Malibu, Beverly Hills, Brentwood and Hollywood. We also ventured a little further - North to Santa Barbara and Solvang, and South to San Diego.
For the next days we will try to capture some of the gems we experienced. Come back to see them. Enjoy! :)
